Rubber suspension bushes are components fitted between moving parts in a vehicle suspension system. They help control movement, reduce vibration and limit metal-to-metal contact.
Rubber suspension bushes may be used in control arms, leaf springs, shock absorbers, torque rods and engine mounting assemblies. Depending on the component design, they can be moulded rubber parts or rubber-to-metal bonded bushes with inner and outer metal sleeves.
Typical applications include passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, trailers, agricultural equipment and industrial machinery. The correct bush depends on the specific assembly, dimensions, load, material requirement and operating environment.
Start with the assembly that needs the bush, rather than choosing from appearance alone. When comparing rubber bushes for suspension applications, record the exact mounting position:
A vehicle model name alone may not identify the correct suspension bush. Include the model year, make, model and relevant vehicle variant, plus the axle or suspension assembly reference where available. Note any modifications from the original suspension arrangement.
For an OEM drawing-based enquiry, use the drawing number and revision as the reference. For replacement enquiries, supply the original part number and available measurements. If a reference is uncertain, mark it as unconfirmed before requesting a fitment review.
Check the sleeve arrangement, dimensions, mounting location, required movement and material specification together. A similar shape or matching outside diameter does not establish interchangeability. Ask which details must be confirmed before ordering, and keep the approved drawing or specification with the quotation.
For a correct quotation or fitment review, provide the vehicle or equipment details, original part number, drawing or sample. Include inner diameter, outer diameter, overall length, sleeve details, rubber hardness and required quantity where available.
Maurflex manufactures Rubber Bushes for automotive and industrial applications. For related suspension components, see Control Arm Bushings and Leaf Spring Bushings.
Share your drawing, sample photographs or part number with the intended application and quantity. Material, dimensions and fitment requirements can then be reviewed for the individual component.
